Program Overview

The National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to training educators to work with children and adults with learning difficulties through an individualized program of educational therapy.

NILD Canada is an emerging affiliate of the National Institute for Learning Development headquartered in Norfolk Virginia USA. NILD has trained 1500+ educational therapists who are currently offering Educational Therapy to students and adults in forty-six countries worldwide.

NILD Canada trains therapists to give direct intervention with struggling learners. We offer professional training courses for educators, informative workshops for parents and in-service seminars at schools and conferences.

The NILD Educational Therapy Program, sometimes referred to as The Discovery Program, is recognized as an effective model that focuses on strengthening areas of learning that are deficient in children and adults.

We have recently added a new Jr. Discovery Program to give children a great start in their education. It helps identify potential areas of learning challenges and then provides an intervention program to meet this need.
