Educational Therapy In Schools
DISCOVERY is the program name often given to NILD Educational Therapy in a school setting.
Students receive regular sessions of educational therapy in individual sessions or in a small group from trained NILD educational therapists. The success of the program lies within its neurodevelopmental techniques, focusing on strengthening the neurological pathways in the brain bringing efficiency to cognitive brain functioning.
SCHOOL TESTIMONIALS
“The parents of my student who attends a local public school approached the principal of the school and asked if a place could be made available to do therapy during school hours. To our delight, the principal said “yes”! They found us a small office that was being used for storage. There is a primary-sized table and chairs that are a bit small for us but we manage. Since there was no chalkboard the parents brought one in and the custodian attached it to the wall. My student eats lunch while we work. I said, “This is one time when its okay to talk with your mouth full!” Both of us appreciate being able to work earlier in the day and I get to interact with my student’s teachers occasionally, which is wonderful.

“Timothy Christian School has been involved with NILD therapy for ten years. Throughout these years we have seen many Discovery students experience more success in their academic endeavors. One student in particular stands out in my memory. Amy, a struggling grade 8 student, was miserably failing most of her courses. After one year of therapy her marks shot up to the 90’s and continued all through high school. She is now in University studying to become a high school teacher!”
