Registration

As of January 1, 2007 all practicing educational therapists and parent educational therapists need to be registered and licensed in order to use NILD® materials.

NILD Canada offers three categories of registration:

Registered Educational Therapist is a practicing educational therapist either in a school or private practice with one or more students, whether receiving remuneration from an employer or client, not receiving remuneration, or receiving remuneration in the form of exchange of services.

Registered Parent Educational Therapist is an educational therapist working exclusively with his or her own children. All practicing parent educational therapists will need to sign a licensing agreement regarding the use of NILD® materials. If an educational therapist provides therapy to anyone other than his or her own children they must register as an Educational Therapist.

Associates are non-practicing educational therapists, schools, Search and Teach providers, undergraduate college students, professionals and other interested individuals and organizations. The associate school membership indicates an endorsement of NILD educational therapy.

Each registration follows the calendar year from January 1 to December 31. Registration applications received after January 1 are valid from the date of registration until December 31.

NILD Canada™ Registered Educational Therapists are entitled to:

• Discounts for conferences and courses.
• Access to members section of NILD® website
• Discoveries Journal subscription. (Web based using NILD® website)
• Legal use of NILD Canada™ name and logo on stationary
• Listing on NILD Canada™ website.
• A selection of e-conferences:
• Private Practice
• Interns
• Program Coordinators
• Search and Teach
• School Based Therapists
• Receive manual technique updates and refinements.

NILD Canada™ Registered Parent Educational Therapists are entitled to:

• Discounts for conferences and courses
• Discoveries Journal subscription. (Web based using NILD® website)
• Access to members section of NILD® website
• Receive manual technique updates and refinements.

NILD Canada™ Associates are entitled to:

• Discoveries Journal subscription. (Web based using NILD® website)
• Access to members section of NILD® website
• Discounts for conferences
• Manual technique updates and refinements for educational therapists only (Non-practicing therapists will need to maintain associate status and licensing agreements to receive manual updates and refinements.

Registration/licensing agreements have been sent to each therapist and can also be obtained online at nildcanada.org or by calling (519-886-8633) or emailing NILDCanada (info@nildcanada.org). Please return them to the NILD Canada™ office with the registration fee in order to be able to use NILD® materials including manuals.

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer you can download a free copy of the program by choosing the selection provided below.
